Microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir dissimilar welds of semisolid-casted AC4CH and 6061 aluminum alloy

چکیده
The feasibility of friction stir welding to joining AC4CH semisolid cast aluminum alloy with 6061 plates was investigated, including the influence condition on mechanical properties joints. Excessive heat input conditions high tool rotational speed and low result in formation large burrs. Although hardness zone is scarcely affected by condition, as 1mm/s makes heat-affected zones both sides softer than zone. Better properties, such tensile strength approximately 85% base metal elongation exceeding basemetal, are obtained under conditions.

In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...

Friction stir lap welding (FSLW) raises the possibility of fabricating high-performance aluminum components at low cost and high efficiency. In this study, we mainly applied FSLW to fabricate multi-track 2024 aluminum alloy without using tool tilt angle, which is important for obtaining defect-free joint but significantly increases equipment cost. Firstly, systematic single-track FSLW experimen...
